INTRODUCTION

So you’re ready to detoxify your body of all those harmful toxins, but not sure what to expect? Detoxification is a process that starts with a firm commitment you make to yourself in your heart and mind. The detox process may be difficult and long, but the results are well worth it. It is a good idea to examine any mental blocks you may have about healthy living before you start to set yourself up for success. Consulting with a good licensed mental health professional can help you with any psychological road blocks that may hinder you on your road to detoxification and healthy living. Journaling your detox experience before, during and after can also be a great way to examine your goals, monitor your progress and view how far you may have come in the process. A good detoxification requires proper planning. Here are some guidelines to follow before and during a detox program:

1.

Consult a licensed, holistic health care professional about your goals for detoxification. Work with him/her to put together a specialized plan specific to you and your goals. (Here at Innovative Medicine.com, we provide holistic health recommendations* that can assist you with your detox goals. They are however not a substitute for the advice of a licensed health care professional.)

2.

Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water a day to constantly to flush out toxins.

3.

Eat healthy, natural, nutritious food. Reduce intake of red meats as they produce urea, and dairy products that normally contain hormones and antibiotics (Dairy products also cause alot of mucus production and clog up the body and should be avoided entirely during a detox). Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, preferably organic grown that do not use harmful pesticides or hormones (Garlic and onions are two of the best detox vegatables and should be included in your detox program. Both are also considered natural chelators).

4.

Get plenty of exercise. Join a gym, work out at home or just go running around the block. However you like, you should get 30 minutes of physical activity a day.

5.

Take proper herbal, homeopathic and/or nutritional supplementation. Innovative Medicine offer’s a high quality line of advanced homeopathic, herbal and nutritional supplements to aid in the detoxification of your body. Many of our homeopathics, including our superior PEKANA® line, are intended to support and nourish the vital detox organs of the body such as the liver, kidneys, bowels, spleen and lymphatic system, and are safe to take any time you want to give your body a helping hand. Our excellent pharmaceutical grade herbal and nutritional supplements can also be used any time you want to give your body a boast and aid it in the detox processes.

All the products we offer are natural and safe, and will aid you and your detox goals, but that does not make them specific to you. Here at Innovative Medicine.com we believe everyone is different and unique and requires a specialized recommendation plan just for them. By taking our holistic recommendation services*, our doctors can help tailor a recommendation plan specific to you and your goals. In taking this service, you are ensuring that the supplements you take are specific to you and your goals.

*One should remember that this recommendation is not a substitute for a consultation with a licensed health care professional and does not constitute medical advice.

DETOX SIDE EFFECTS
Sometimes during a detoxification program temporary symptoms develop as a result of the body removing and eliminating toxins from the body. If you detox too fast, do not support the body with proper supplementation, overstress the body or do not drink enough water, the toxins that are released for processing may overwhelm the body and produce physical symptoms. Even if you are doing everything the right way, you may still experience some symptoms. These symptoms can include: headache, skin rashes, stomach aches, cramps or diarrhea, lowered energy and in some cases fever.

It is important to understand that these symptoms are a natural part of the detoxification process and are temporary. The whole process is like doing a spring cleaning in your house. The first few days of the cleaning the house looks like a mess and is worse off then when it started. But once the garbage is removed and things are put back in place, the house is cleaner than it ever was. The same thing happens to your bodies during a detoxification. The detox causes all these toxins that were being stored in the body to be released and dumped into the blood for processing. This movement of toxins is what causes these symptoms. It’s important to not get discouraged and continue with the program. If symptoms become serious or last for a long time than you should consult a licensed health care professional immediately.

AFTER DETOX
After successfully completing a detoxification process, you may feel invigorated and like you never remember feeling before. You may experience more awareness and have more clarity in your thoughts. Many peoples' eyes become brighter and clearer after a good detox. Many people also report having increased energy levels and generally feeling lot healthier and better about themselves. People report clearing of the skin, more consistent bowel movement, and bodily odors become less offensive. All these benefits and many more are yours after a sucessfull full-body detoxification.
