How are homeopathic remedies made? |
The process of making homeopathic remedies is very distinct and important. First, a specific herb, plant or mineral is dissolved in pharmaceutical grade alcohol (beet alcohol is sometimes used rather than ethyl alcohol for desired alkaloids) and a mother tincture is produced. From this mother tincture, the succussion process begins. Succussion is a term used for homeopathics that deals with banging or shaking of a remedy by machine or preferably by hand. This process of succussion is continued after every dilution until the desired potency is achieved. The more succussed and diluted a remedy, the more powerful and deeper acting medicine is produced which is released as kinetic energy without toxicity. How long will it take before I see improvements? |
Most people can experience symptomatic relief almost immediately after taking homeopathic remedies. Overall therapeutic improvement generally takes anywhere from 24 hours to 1 week. These are general guidelines, and factors that may accelerate or slow down the healing process include dosage, severity of the condition and age. How often should I take homeopathic remedies? |
Homeopathic remedies can be administered as necessary. As a guideline, we suggest to follow the recommended dosage found on the packaging. If acute conditions occur, a more frequent dosage may be administered until desired results are noticed. Do homeopathic medicines have an expiration date? |
Yes. Although not required by law, homeopathic manufacturers place expiration dates on their remedies because of guidelines set forth by the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia. But if kept away from radiation (electromagnetic), heat and light, remedies have shown to be effective 10-20 years after their noted expiration date (normally about 3-5 years). |

How should homeopathic medicines be stored? |
Homeopathic medicines should be stored away from direct sunlight and heat. They should also be kept away from large electrical appliances (freezers, televisions), microwaves and computers, as their electromagnetic fields can be damaging to the remedies. Why doesn’t the FDA approve homeopathic and herbal medicines? |
Under The Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA), most natural supplements, including herbal and homeopathic, are not required to undergo the same testing that the FDA requires of synthetic pharmaceuticals. The law allows the manufacturers of these homeopathic and herbal medications to bypass the expensive bureaucratic mess that synthetic pharmaceuticals have to undergo. On the one hand, this is beneficial for the natural medicine arena, yet on the other, it allows for many unscrupulous vendors to go unchecked.
